But they start with a number of\ndisadvantages. Their families and communities may assume that they are unable\nto engage in such activities. They often lack access to basic education, making\nthem unqualified to join skills training courses. These disadvantages\nfrequently result in a lack of skills, as well as low confidence, expectations\nand achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Different types of skills are\nrequired for successful work. They include foundation skills acquired through\neducation and family life, technical and professional skills which enable a\nperson to undertake a particular activity or task, business skills required to\nsucceed in self-employment and core life skills, including attitudes, knowledge\nand personal attributes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>People\nwith disabilities have the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need for work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Role of\nLRCPL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nrole of LRCPL is to enable people with disabilities to access work\nopportunities, by actively promoting and facilitating the acquisition of\nrelevant knowledge, skills and attitudes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Desirable\noutcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Youth and adults with\n     disabilities have access to a range of training opportunities and acquire\n     marketable skills, decent work (waged employment or self-employment) and\n     income.<\/li><li>Girls and women with\n     disabilities have equal opportunities for skills development with boys and\n     men.<\/li><li>Mainstream providers of\n     vocational and skills training have policies and practices that ensure\n     people with disabilities have access to the training provided.<\/li><li>People with disabilities have\n     access to support services -vocational guidance, placement services,\n     assistive devices and adapted equipment.<\/li><li>People with disabilities have\n     access to advanced skills development opportunities required to progress\n     in their work.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SIPDA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scheme for Implementation\nof the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (SIPDA)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Placement initiative of Department of Empowerment of Persons with\nDisability under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE). The scheme\nfocuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of Persons with Disability\nand enhancing their skills for wage employment.
